Sean Cleary - ISC - Toronto Gators

Day 4 – ISC 2016 Summary

Yesterday was a great success with our Day 3 summary and we’d like to pass on our thanks to those that shared our post on social media!

Day 4 has seen the Bloomington Stix continue in the tournament with a solid win over the Pueblo Bandits in the losers bracket. The game saw plenty of offence for the Stix, registering 11 hits for a total of 9 runs. This could be the turning point for the Stix, who’s offence had been a little patchy up until now. Jayden Lach, Julian Jemmott both registered hits and Merriman was able to take a much needed rest. Julian opened up his account with a homerun. Tyron Bartorillo put in a solid performance, displaying both power and speed with a homerun and triple, which shows why he’s batting at number 3 in this line-up. John Zambrano is getting it done with another 2 hits, bringing his total to 4 for 7 with a couple of walks.

The Gremlins have again gotten it done, relegating BC As into the losers bracket! The As bring one of the best pitching line-ups with Ramon Jones and Lucas Mata. A four innings walk to Zenon Winters and two back to back hits has seen the game open up in favor of the Gremlins, who went on to take the game 3-0. Zenon was a notable out yesterday and with a day like today it’s easy to see why he’ll never be left out for long. Z finished the day with 2 hits, one being a Homerun, 2 Runs, a walk and 1 RBI. It was the 6, 7 and 8 batters that did the damage with Flores and Abrey following up Zenon’s handy work. The Gremlins have been fortunate enough to share their pitching duties between both Kirkpatrick and Roman Godoy, who both appear to be getting it done and should see them fresh in two days time. Goolagong played CF and wasn’t able to register a hit today, he won’t be kept down for long and will only set off the warning bells when they take on the Toronto Gators on Thursday. This will be a much watch game with the Gremlins yet to give up a run!

Lastly the Gators were able to get over the line against J and B Painting with both teams registering 2 hits a piece. It was an outstanding pitching performance by Cleary with 14 strikeouts and allowing only 2 runners to reach base on hits for the shutout. The Gators scored in the 4th and 6th and were both solo efforts with Lalu showing off his power hitting very long homerun and Ben Enoka zipping around the bases for a triple. This triple then allowed Enoka to score on a wild pitch from fresh pitcher Tony Mancha.

There are currently 8 teams remaining in the winners bracket, with a massive much watch game tomorrow against the A1 Bombers and Scarbrough Force. The Chiefs will take on the Circle Tap Dukes which will be a David vs Goliath battle between the two ball clubs. We hope you enjoy and again thank you to those for supporting our page via social media!
