Toronto Gators to Bid Farewell after taking ISC 2016 Title

Toronto Gators Bid Farewell

All good things must come to an end and it’s with an air of finality that Jack Fireman is announcing today that the Toronto Gators will shutter their operations.
“What better way to go out than as ISC World Champions and ISC Legends Champions,” said Mr. Fireman, who has been involved as the Gators sponsor for most of the last 25 years. “I want to thank all of the players, the coaches and the support staff as well as the families, friends and fans who cheered on the Gators.”

Jack’s Gators have won three ISC World Championships, three Canadian Championships, a Pan Am Qualifier and numerous provincial and tournament titles along with a World Masters Games gold medal and the ISC Legends title.
Five Gators players, along with Jack, have been elected to the ISC Hall of Fame and more will surely join them in the future.
The current incarnation of the Toronto Gators started in 2010 with Adam Sargon and had modest goals but after a fifth place finish in 2012, Jack geared up for a title run with the audacity to combine some of the top Canadian players with many of the best from New Zealand.
“This was an incredibly talented group of individuals who became a team under the leadership of Terry Baytor,” says Jack. “We had to become a team to beat the best and we did that this year.”
Sadly the Gators lost a talented young player in Joel Langford last year. Those who knew Joel the best took the time to commemorate the 2016 Championship in his name.
The last word, as always, goes to Jack Fireman: “I’ll be watching the careers of all of my players very closely and I know that they’ll have continued success wherever they go because they’ll always be Toronto Gators at heart.”
